Cheers to 60 Years A Time of Reflection, Camaraderie, Thanks, and Giving Thank you to all who attended and contributed to the Cheers to 60 Years fundraising event. Because of your kindness and generosity, we succeeded our $10,000.00 financial goal! The anniversary fundraising event was more than just raising money. It was about animal lovers coming together, reflecting on the mission of our founder Betty Long, and continuing her life's work by rescuing and rehoming our community's homeless and abused dogs and cats. Honestly, the outpouring of love and kindness at the event was inspirational and a true tribute to the values of our founder Betty Long. PAWS has grown from rescuing a handful of dogs in 1962 to adopting around 1,000 animals in 2022. PAWS rehabilitates sick and abused animals while providing the love and care they so desperately need while with us. PAWS provides exceptional medical care which often goes above and beyond standard procedures. On our 60th anniversary, PAWS honored our founder Betty Long and our mission, to help homeless and abused cats and dogs find health, happiness, and love in a forever home. A huge thank you to the many people who made this happen: Kerry Dobson who led the charge, Ripka's Beach Cafe (the food and drinks were awesome!), Cupcakes for a Cause (the cupcakes were outstanding!), our Sponsors, the event committee, our inspirational Happy Tails speakers Christine Alison and Mark Reiss, the many volunteers who dedicated their time, and the attendees. We have the best Board, staff, volunteers and animals. I hope Betty Long is looking down and smiling. A big thank you to Mother Nature for the beautiful weather and Harvest Moon over the Sound!
